LEON 'CLOGGER' CLEGG brought the curtain down on a superb night's boxing at Holy Family School on Monday.
Clegg renewed his rivalry with Sheffield's Kevin England. The pair recently set the South Yorks city alight with a 'slug-fest' which Clegg finally won.
This meeting was another explosive affair with the Keighley boxer pulling himself off the canvas before taking another narrow points victory.
Keighley's recently crowned Yorkshire Novices Heavyweight Champion, Craig Higgs, lost narrowly after another top performance against Nick McGarry of Doncaster.
Schoolboy Josh Hustler recorded a debut victory over Liverpool Golden gloves fighter Anthony Galvin. His brother, Nathan Hustler fought gamely against John Deering of Bradford before the referee intervened in the second round.
There was also dignity in defeat for Adam Malinowski who was also making his debut who scored some telling shots before the left hand of Liverpool's Anthony Fowler took its toll.
Luke Howson boxed impeccably for much of his contest against Ben Wager of Barnsley, who just got the verdict after a grandstand finish.
Robbie Spencer was another of the Keighley Club's spirited young boxers but the long reach of Liverpool's John Shield proved too much.
Matthew Booth, a former Yorkshire Schools finalist, boxed splendidly against Sheffield 's John Wainwright to snatch a majority verdict.
