TOMORROW'S first-round matches in The Devonshire Carpets Cup provide the focus of attention in the Craven & District Football League, with some interesting looking ties.
Pick of the bunch in the Premier section will be the meeting of local rivals Bronte Wanderers and holders Oxenhope Recreation.
Skipton LMS should continue winning form at Grindleton, while Keighley Lifts should be too strong for Cononley Sports.
In Division One, Bradley should be a home banker against Oxenhope Recreation Reserves, while Bronte Wanderers Reserves and Colne Shepherds are both away to lower opposition and should progress to Round Two, although Cowling and Skipton Town will be doing their best to upset the form-book.
Division Two shows some interesting ties. Barrowford United at home to Keighley Lifts Reserves promises to be a close-fought affair, while Chatburn will not relish a visit to Skipton LMS Reserves.
Cross Hills Reserves and Silsden Athletic provides a local derby and Skipton Bulldogs Reserves against Grindleton Reserves will be a battle of the basement clubs.
Only one cup match goes ahead in Division Three, where Pendle Athletic are hosts to neighbours Earby.
Overall, prospects look good for a decent day's sport all round.
Tomorrow's programme also includes:
Premier Division: Intake v Embsay. Division One: Embsay Res v Waddington, Horton v Lothersdale Athletic. Division Two: Gargrave v Intake Res, Ingleton v McBrides. Division Three: Cononley Sports Reserves v Grassington United Reserves, Earby Town v Waddington Reserves, Hellifield Sports Reserves v Gargrave Reserve.
