The FA investigation into the Paddy Kenny transfer has been thrown out, the Telegraph & Argus has learned.
Bradford Park Avenue chairman Frank Thornton complained to the football authorities after the former UniBond keeper moved from Bury to Sheffield United for just £42,000.
This leaves Avenue receiving only £2,400 from a sell-on clause, a far cry from the massive windfall they were hoping for from the £1m-rated keeper.
But Graham Noakes, director of football administration and refereeing at the FA, found no evidence of wrong-doing, leaving Thornton disappointed.
"We had to protest over this and make our voice heard," said Thornton, furious, but not surprised.
"I am not happy about what has gone on. For future transfers of our players we will try to get in a clause so that we can have a hand in negotiations for future transfers to try to protect our assets."
