Whatever the fate of Bradford Bulls in this season's TXU Energi Challenge Cup, Lee Radford is confident he can make an impact in the event.

But the 23-year-old second-row forward isn't worried yet what the draw has in store for the Bulls in the fourth round and hopefully beyond.

Apart from preparing himself for a decent cup run with the Bulls, the England international is also concerned with the prospects of East Hull.

Radford coaches the unbeaten Yorkshire League Premier Division leaders, and they are at home in Saturday's second round to Rugby League Summer Conference Grand Final winners Coventry Bears.

"It is an outstanding draw for us, although I know very little about them," admitted Hull-based Radford.

"We won't be taking them lightly but we haven't been beaten on our own ground for two years and I will be very surprised if we are defeated.

"Also we haven't been beaten anywhere this season and although we have been called the best club outside the National Conference League, I think we are not far off the best in there.

"We played Skirlaugh last year, who are running fourth at the moment, and we absolutely blathered them.

"Admittedly we lost to Oulton when we were under-prepared but other than that we haven't lost to a National Conference League side.

"Also we are in the Tetley's Yorkshire Cup final on Sunday, December 29 against Cutsyke Raiders at Hull KR and we are gunning for the BARLA National Cup as well.

"Everything is going great and we have just signed Paul Parker from Hull FC, who scored the last-ever try at The Boulevard a few weeks ago and has been in the Hull team all year.

"In all, we have three lads in our team who have played Super League - including Michael Docherty and Lee Brown, also from Hull FC."

The modest Radford added: "Keep your eye on us for the National Conference League but not a lot of our success is down to me.

"All I have done is get my old mates together from Hull's Academy side, plus a couple we have signed from Leeds - Mark Woodcock and 'Toffer' Windass.

"And we have gelled together. They do it on the field but I am enjoying it too - it gets me out of the house!"

Among the entrants in the third-round Challenge Cup draw later this month are the 20 professional National League teams, Russian champions Lokomotiv Moscow and four leading French clubs, with the 12 Super League clubs joining at the fourth-round stage. Embassy - one of five Hull clubs in the draw - have the chance to make history on Sunday after being drawn at home to Russian League runners-up Strela Kazan, the first club from their country to take part in the Challenge Cup.

l Great Britain international Karl Pratt is at a Rugby Football League tribunal today at Red Hall, Leeds, hoping to secure a contract release from the Rhinos. If successful, he could well be a Bulls player by Christmas.
