Ben Rhydding LADIES: Despite a somewhat damp and foggy day the new Lady Captain's Drive-in on November 13 was a very successful and enjoyable event.

Competitors were invited to estimate where her drive would land. The winner of this was Jill Guthrie.

Pamela Anderson, new lady captain, launched her year with a flag competition which was won by Sue Atkins, second was Sue Towler and joint third was Sandra Speer and Sue Hartley. Her chosen charity is the Robert Ogden School for Autistic Children.

After the nine-hole competition everyone repaired to the club house for drinks and delicious eats.

On November 20 Ben Rhydding Ladies said goodbye to two stalwart members who are both moving on.

Sheila Atkinson and Mollie Place had arranged a Swan Song competition, but unfortunately the weather put paid to any golf.

However, a little thing like rain did not dampen the afternoon.

Two taxing and unusual quizzes, arranged by Sheila and Mollie, put the teams through their paces.

The winners were lady captain Pamela Anderson, Pauline Lee and Helen Birdwood.
