Avenue travel to Lancashire tomorrow to face league leaders Acrrington Stanley "with nowt to be frightened of".

Bradford take on their keenest rivals in what is set to be a vital match for both sides.

Avenue will return to their normal formation and team following their confidence-boosting midweek West Riding County Cup win.

Jason Maxwell and Martin James will return to action at the Crown Ground with Lutz Pfannenstiel also returning to the side after a two match absence.

The keeper, who has been back home in Germany this week, will be hoping for a return to good fortune in the nets with a change of top.

He is ridding himself of the green shirt worn during the disastrous 7-1 defeat at Worksop, preferring instead to bring with him a new yellow jersey and with it a change in luck.

Teenage striking sensation Anthony Bingham is likely to retain his place in the squad following his goal-scoring debut against Yorkshire Amateurs on Tuesday.

"We have nowt to be frightened of," said assistant manager Ian Thompson.

"If we play to our potential then we can get a result.

"It was good to get a win the other night, getting that result was important for the players.

"Going to their place is going to be tough but with the players back winning again I think we can get something from the game."

Last time Avenue played at the compact Lancashire ground, they were cruelly beaten on penalties in the UniBond Cup final.

But revenge is not on the agenda.

"That sort of thing happens in football," said Thompson, who made a rare appearance from the bench that night due to a shortage of players.

"We're not worried about that. We are just going there to play football our way. We are to worrying about Accrington Stanley."

The home side will be missing former Liverpool midfielder Mike Marsh for the clash. He is out with a knee injury.

But other than his absence it will be a full strength side including former Avenue winger Dean Calcutt.

Stanley, former Football League rivals of the Avenue, will be expecting a crowd in excess of 1,000 for the game as they continue their attempts to complete a cash-backed promotion to the Conference.

The Lancastrians are bank-rolling their return to the Football League with a £250,000 windfall, courtesy of a sell-on clause in Brett Ormerod transfer from Blackpool to Southampton.

But the financial gap between the two clubs does not worry Thompson.

"Bring them on," he said.
