Budding entrepreneurs will be learning how to make their businesses a winner tonight - thanks to the ancient martial art of judo.

Business gurus John Barnes and Richard Richardson were due to kickstart Bradford University School of Management's 2002/2003 Alumni Lecture series tonight with their talk on Marketing Judo - Building Your Business Using Brains Not Budget.

John and Richard's marketing philosophy embraces judo. They claim their businesses are based on "levering other people's strengths to your own advantage, use your mind more than your size, and can achieve a black belt if you move quickly and retain your balance when others don't."

At tonight's event they were to explain their Marketing Judo Game Plan - a series of seven moves designed to help marketing success. The evening has been organised by the School of Management's new Alumni Office.
