A Saturday lunch-time ground inspection by match referee Nigel Haycock declared the Silsden ground unfit for their West Riding County Amateur League Mumtaz Premier Division Cup first-round tie with Brighouse Town.

A quick agreement was reached between club and league officials to switch the game to Brighouse.

With both sides undefeated in all competitions so far this season, the move suited Silsden who took advantage of Town having leading scorer Shaun Walsh unavailable through suspension, and brothers Glen and Gary Lee missing.

Martin Bland and Mick Wood gave Silsden a two-goal interval advantage and with a second goal after half-time from Wood, Silsden ran out 3-0 victors.

Otley Town ended their Premier Division match at Lower Hopton with only seven players on the field following the dismissal of Richard Longhorne, Joe Lunn, Martin Neale and Lee Grice.

John Carrington (3) and Paul Ashwell netted for Lower Hopton who ran out 4-2 winners - Graham Hutchinson and Lee Grice having given Otley a two goal early lead.

Mick Burke returned with Littletown to his old club Wibsey and within three minutes had the ball in the back of the net to give his new side the lead.

Burke spurned the chance to double his tally when he missed a penalty ten minutes later, a miss that proved costly, as Wibsey battled back to equalise through Damian Melvin to draw 1-1.

Ovenden West Riding and visitors Golcar United settled for the same scoreline. Danny Megson gave the Halifax side the lead after five minutes, but persistence from visitors Golcar and a strike midway through the second half from Martin Allison ended the game with honours even.

Division One leaders Steeton missed the chance to open up a four-point lead over their visitors, second-placed Altofts. Leading 3-1 early in the second half, following goals from Adam Smith, Danny Gaudoisi and Rob Henson, Steeton appeared to have the points wrapped up.

Altofts declined to accept defeat and with goals in the final third of the game from Gareth Price, Steve Ripley and a second from Andy Sibson - who had scored in the first half - the Wakefield side ran out 4-3 winners to knock Steeton off top spot.

Rawdon Old Boys saw their chance to move out of the bottom four thwarted, when visitors Hall Green United returned home 3-1 winners, Mat Callaghan scoring a second half hat-trick for Hall Green.

Dudley Hill Athletic lost at Ardsley Celtic by the same margin, Jeremy Hillam scoring Hill's consolation after Dave Cataroche, Alan Howard and Martin Fascione had netted.

Salts moved level on points with Westwood whose game at home to Morley Town was postponed at the top of Division Two after Cameron Kieron and a Rob Bedford penalty gave them a 2-1 home victory over Barclays.

Third-placed Bowling slipped up 3-2 at home to Ventus/Yeadon. Gary Scott and Lee Kirkbright had given Bowling a 2-0 half-time lead only for Jon Reagan (2) and Paul Sharpe to score to secure the points for the north Leeds side.
