A popular Sunday luncheon club in Bingley has been forced to close because of a lack of supervisors.
The club, which held lunches at Cardigan House in Fercliffe Road, attracted about 40 diners every week since it began 14 years ago.
Now regulars are calling for the club to continue because it is their 'lifeline'.
George Raynor, 72, who met his friends at the group, said he was now struggling for something to do on Sundays.
"For many of us it's the highlight of our week," said Mr Raynor, of Yeadon.
"Many people who go along live alone and knowing they will see their friends every Sunday keeps them going."
Meals were served by offenders on community punishment orders. Community service officer Richard Page said it was 'regrettable' the club had to close but the situation would be reviewed in January.
"The club is of benefit to both elderly diners and offenders and we will be looking for a new supervisor to take over," he said.
Anyone interested in becoming a supervisor can call (01924) 885300.
