Only five league and three cup games out of the 35 scheduled beat the freeze with all the postponed West Riding County FA Challenge Cup/Trophy games now rearranged for Saturday (1.30pm).

Silsden reached the last eight of the West Riding County FA Challenge Cup with a 3-0 home victory over Huddersfield League side Brackenhall United, all the goals coming in the second half courtesy of Jimmy Spencer (2) and Martin Bland.

Littletown are also in the last eight after a 3-1 win at West Yorkshire League Premier Division side Wetherby Athletic, Richard Burke, Mick Burke and Damian Scott netting the goals.

Brighouse Town scored first through Wayne Gibson at Whitkirk Wanderers but strikes from Stuart Welton and Steve Scott put the Leeds side into the last eight.

Steeton moved back into pole position in the West Riding County Amateur League Division One with a 7-2 trouncing of Dudley Hill Athletic. Danny Gaudiosi (3), Mick Jarvis, playing his first senior game in six months, (2), James Gill and Rob Henson netting for the promotion candidates. Matthew Permain restored a little pride to Athletic's struggle against relegation with a brace, one from the penalty spot.

Hunsworth, who set the early season pace, are only two places above the relegation zone after their hosts Ardsley Celtic improved their outside chance of Premiership football next season with a 3-1 victory. John Garbutt, Alan Howard and Graham Marchant scored for the home side.

Crag Road United's ground was declared fit by Baildon referee Dave Warne but it was their Division Two visitors Westbrook Wanderers who adapted to the conditions better, and with first-half goals from Matthew Bates (2) and Phil Morton ran out 3-0 winners.

Otley Town's home Premier Division game with Bay Athletic went the way of the visitors with John Buckley scoring twice in a 2-1 win. Lee Grice netted a consolation for Town.
