Bradford Bulls have become the latest team to show their support for the launch of the Co-op Sports for Schools Scheme, which has just been launched in Yorkshire.

The scheme allows local schools to collect vouchers from United Co-op stores, and exchange them for a whole range of free sports equipment from the special Sports for Schools catalogue.

Children in the Bradford area have until April 11 to collect vouchers, and are appealing to pupils, parents and members of the local community to get behind their efforts to boost their PE equipment.

Team members from the club and local schoolchildren who are already collecting their vouchers are pictured with the Sports for Schools mascot Funky Monkey.

The scheme was launched in September, 1998 in partnership with the English Schools' Football Association (ESFA). Over 2,200 schools in the North West and North Midlands have received over 67,000 items of free sports kit.

The success of the scheme has been such that it is being run in Yorkshire for the first time.

A voucher will be issued for every £3 spent in Co-op Pharmacies and Convenience stores, such as Co-op late shops, village stores and petrol stations, and for every £5 spent in Co-op Superstores, Co-op Food Markets and Sunwin Department stores. Co-op Sunwin Motor Dealerships are also participating.

Schools still without packs or who would like to register for the scheme, should ring the Sports for Schools hotline on 0845-330-1282 or visit www.coop.co.uk
