The Belgian flag flew at half-mast at Bradford City Hall today and the minute bell tolled at the time of the funeral of the Burgomaster of Verviers, M. Hubert Parotte. M. Parotte, civic head of Bradford's Belgian twin town since May, had visited Bradford as a councillor and as a Belgian senator.

Cost of converting the Wibsey motor-bus service to trolley buses will be £28,000, apart from the cost of sub-stations, according to a recommendation before Bradford Corporation Finance Estimates Sub-committee. A recommendation to provide overhead wiring along Broadway for the proposed cross city service, at a cost of £3,000, was also endorsed.
