Jimmy Lowes has warned that tomorrow's trip to Wilderspool will be as intimidating as a visit to Odsal.

The Zoo, where he has gone head to head with current Wolves coach Paul Cullen in the past, is a volatile, crowd-on-top-of-you venue and the veteran hooker believes the Bulls will be in for a tough ride.

"Warrington is a ground where we have struggled for success over the last few years," said Lowes, who has taken on coaching responsibilities for this season.

"Things have gone well in preparation, even though we have been disrupted with the weather this week, and we are all ready to get over to Warrington and get stuck in.

"It will be a tough game and, as it is everyone's first competitive game of the season, it will be about who plays well on the day.

"Knowing Paul Cullen, there is no doubt he will have them well fired up for this one.

"We must match fire with fire because, as we found out last season, there is no second chance. It hurt last year and we are going there determined that it won't happen again."

And given Lowes' cup record, and the venue for this year's final, this is a game, and a competition, he is determined to win.

The Great Britain international has won just once in his four final appearances and is determined to get to Cardiff this year and get a second winners' medal.

"I have played at Twickenham, Old Trafford and Murrayfield but this is one of the great stadiums I have never been to before and I want to go and play there," said Lowes.

"I know Leeds United will never get to a final there so this is my one chance to get a visit.

"After 18 years in the game I appreciate the importance of the Challenge Cup and it is a trophy I would love to win again.

"You can't really compare it with Super League, it is something so different. It has a lot of history and a lot of prestige and we will be going all out this year to get there."

He had his favourite opposition picked out before last week's draw in Huddersfield but is ready to take on anyone.

"I wouldn't have minded a trip to France," said a smiling and relaxed Lowes.

"But you get what you are drawn and it is Warrington for us.

"They are a side big on aggression and that is what we will have to cope with.

"I'm not going to give our game-plan away but we are going to be ready for a big, tough encounter."
