Stefan Magnusson is on stand-by to replace Aidan Davison in City's goal against Wimbledon.

If Davison fails a late fitness test on his injured groin, boss Nicky Law will choose between Icelandic international Magnusson or throwing in non-contract keeper Neil Bennett, who has been hurriedly signed up for the weekend.

Both are included in a 20-man squad which left the Bradford & Bingley Stadium this morning. But there is no place for Juanjo or Mark Danks, who are both out of favour with the manager.

Magnusson, 22, would be the FIFTH different keeper City have used this season following on from Gary Walsh, Davison, Steve Banks and Boaz Myhill. Former Bayern Munich stopper Magnusson, on loan for the rest of the season from Danish club Farum, has only been with City for a week. He has not had a competitive outing after the midweek reserve game was twice called off. He said: "I've only been to training three times and once was with the youth team and once with the goalkeepers. I had to go home for two days as well so I don't yet know many of the players.

"But it would be fun playing against Wimbledon, the great Crazy Gang. It won't be a problem and I will give it my all."

Bennett, from Wakefield, has been playing in the Republic of Ireland.

Davison - like another groin victim, Wayne Jacobs - has not trained for two days and will be given a final check tomorrow morning.

It is yet another goalkeeping headache for Law, who had hoped to see the return of Gary Walsh.

Law said: "Ideally I would have liked to have Gary Walsh available. He's looking really sharp in training but we just need to know he's going to be okay. Gary keeps thinking things are fine and then he has a little bit of a lapse.

"Stefan is a young goalkeeper and technically there's a lot of work to be done but that's why we've got Martin Hodge to help. But he is an international and you don't get that status if you are any mug."

City are bracing themselves for Selhurst Park's empty stands. Sources in London predict the crowd figure will struggle to top 1,500 as the boycott against Wimbledon's imminent move to Milton Keynes goes on.

Meanwhile, Danny Cadamarteri travelled to London today after signing a one-off agreement over appearance money for the game.

City are still trying to sort out the problem with Cadamarteri, who is entitled to an extra £1,000 a week in his contract after 30 games for the club.

Cadamarteri spoke to chief executive Julian Rhodes yesterday and has agreed to defer the payments for at least one game.

Chairman Gordon Gibb said: "There's no problem in his representative providing us with a letter of comfort we need over his injury. Danny just wants to play football and we are all being very positive about this."
