Children at the Cavendish Lodge Nursery, in Keighley, have taken up the Chatterbox Challenge.

The national challenge, sponsored by Tesco, has been organised by I CAN, a charity which aims to help children with communication difficulties.

To take part, nursery staff help the children to learn and recite a song, nursery rhyme or story.

Cavendish Lodge Nursery is one of the many Princess Christian nurseries which have taken up the challenge. The songs being learned by the nursery include "The Wheels on the Bus", "If You're Happy and You Know It" and"'Five Flying Men in a Flying Saucer".

The nursery also takes part in other fundraising events such as Red Nose Day and Children in Need, of which the parents are very supportive.

Angela Barry, manager of the nursery, said: "We have all had great fun learning songs and rhymes for the Chatterbox Challenge.

"Princess Christian knows that communication is critical and that's why we are supporting I CAN's Chatterbox Challenge."

Thanks to Tesco's baby and toddler club every pound raised throughout the challenge will help I CAN give children with speech and language difficulties a better start in life. "We encourage other nurseries to join in and get their little chatterboxes talking too," said Angela.
