Plans are being developed for the inaugural festivities to celebrate the history and spirit of Keighley.
The first holding of Keighley Day will be on Wednesday, March 19, with events starting on Saturday, March 15.
The theme will be to celebrate who and what make up the essence of Keighley. It will provide an opportunity for the different cultures in Keighley to show everyone else their history and traditions.
Events, including a torchlight procession, will be based on traditional music, dance, theatre, history and transport. Keighley Town Council intends to hold events in Low Street, Town Hall Square and Lund Park.
The town council will be organising events, but has urged Keighley people and businesses to hold their own with the help of the council.
Town council events will be free. Any money collected will go to the Keighley Mayor's charities.
Anyone wanting to host events or offer other help should contact the town council on 01535 618252.
