OVER half last week's league programme had to be abandoned despite an afternoon of bright sunshine - once again grounds were frozen solid and unsafe for play.

Division One leaders Lothersdale did go ahead and returned to form with a 7-1 victory over Skipton Town to maintain their lead at the top. They were soon into their stride and after five minutes Liam Jeffreys slotted home a perfect goal following a great cross from Curtis Hall.

To Dale's consternation Town hit back straight away, but they soon recovered with Hall rounding the keeper to restore their lead. Within minutes he repeated the move to make it 3-1 to Dale.

Hall completed his hat-trick when he dribbled through the whole defence to score. The second half saw Dale continue to dominate and the goals continued to flow with David Bennett scoring the fifth and Hall taking his personal tally to four. Phillip Richardson rounded off the scoring as Dale made up for their blip and maintained their four point lead at the top.

Bradley moved into second place with a 2-1 victory over Bronte Wanderers Reserves. The game was played on a hard pitch and the bumpy ground meant it was never going to be a classic. Both sides tried hard to play football, but conditions underfoot spoilt that. Bronte were the better team from the kick-off and pushed Bradley back in defence, but they did manage several threatening breaks.

Bronte deservedly took the lead before half time when Daniel Blakesley finished a good move which was started at the back by Ben Utley to give Bronte an interval lead. If all their chances had been converted it would have been 4-0.

The pitch cut up badly in the second half and defences were on top. Bradley equalised through a defensive mistake, with Carl Moralee on target, and both teams went all-out for the win. Both created chances, but it was Bradley's Raymond Waddington who sealed the points with a late winner.

Keighley Lifts Reserves had a comfortable 8-2 victory over Skipton Bulldogs Reserves in Division Two. Lifts were always firmly in command although 'Dogs battled hard, but their defence was no match for the fast running Lifts forwards. The Skipton side was 3-1 down at half time, and they had done well to keep the score down.

The second half was a different story as the fitter Lifts side took control and added five more goals. To the Bulldogs credit they did manage to find the net twice themselves. Lifts scorers were Steven Duff (3), Paul O'Neill (sub) 3, Marc Sennett (2).

Silsden Athletic met an in-form Grindleton Reserves side who chose Saturday to put on their best display of the season. Silsden were under the cosh from the start, and by half time were 5-0 down. They rallied in the second half and pulled a goal back only to see Grindleton score a sixth. However, Silsden battled to the end and a little bit of steadiness in front of the posts could have brought more goals.
