Detectives investigating the murder of Tasawar Hussain, who was shot dead chasing armed robbers, were today continuing to question two men.
Bradford magistrates have granted officers a further extension to detain the men in custody until early tomorrow.
More than 100 officers, some armed, carried out a series of dawn raids at four addresses in Bradford on Friday which resulted in nine people being arrested. Searches at a number of homes in Bradford were continuing yesterday.
Mr Hussain, 36, a married father-of-one whose wife Naila, 34, is expecting their second child, was gunned down after he chased armed robbers who attacked a security guard at Madina travel agents, in Lumb Lane, Manningham, on Monday, January 27.
He and a friend were driving past when the robbery took place and pursued the raiders getaway car. Mr Hussain was shot in the chest during a confrontation in Jowett Street, near Thornton Road.
A 53-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman were last night charged with receiving stolen property in connection with the robbery. They were released on bail to appear at Bradford magistrates on Friday.
One man and four women have been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
