In 1915, a military hospital was opened at Field House, Duckworth Lane, Bradford.

In 1956, Bradford's Tivoli cinema closed.

The bravery of a 12-year-old boy from Delf Hill Middle School, Low Moor, Bradford, helped save the lives of two of his friends when they fell in the lake in nearby Harold Park. Brothers Rennie Clegg, 13, and Jensen, ten, of Flaxby House, Woodside Estate, Bradford ventured on to the melting ice shortly after school had finished, and fell into the lake near the spot where the ice had been broken for ducks. Jim Wilson of Wibsey then ventured on to the ice and threw a lifebelt to the two boys.

During the recent snowstorm about 40 miles of district roads over high ground were rendered impassible. Mr S .C. Davidson, the Highways Surveyor, told Settle Rural Council today. Drifts ten to 12ft high had to be cut. He had not seen as much snow for 20 years on some of the roads.
