LOCAL badminton pairing Zak Rastegar and Christopher Allen won the gold medal in the English Schools Badminton Association Championships.
Zak, 12, of Guiseley is a pupil at Bradford Grammar School while Christopher, 12, of Ilkley, is a pupil at Ilkley Grammar School.
They paired up to win the standard doubles gold at the Richard Dunn Sports Centre, Bradford.
At one stage in the final they were 12-20 down but they battled back to win the title on setting at 23-21.
This win now qualifies them for the Premier Doubles.
Both boys play for Yorkshire at Under-13 level. Zak has been representing his county for three years while Christopher is a more relative newcomer to county play.
Zak took up badminton when his Richmond House School started going to the David Lloyd Centre and he has since won lots of medals.
