Lapping up hot news on a round-the-world trip are local men Mark Fudge, left, and Lee Kelly, right, with Steve Guy from Stockton-on-Tees.

They are pictured catching up with events back home - courtesy of the Keighley News - during a trip to the Franz Josef Glacier, on the New Zealand leg of the dream journey.

Mark, 25, and 24-year-old Lee - with friend Tony McClarnon, also 24 - bought a Great Escapade ticket and set off on a year-long adventure, which included five flights.

They travelled first to Africa - calling at Cape Town and Port Elizabeth - before going on to Thailand, where they met up with Steve Guy.

Next stop was Australia, where they spent eight months. Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Cairns, the Great Barrier Reef, Frazer Island and Brisbane were all visited.

It was then on to New Zealand for four weeks, taking in the north and south islands and spending five days snowboarding in Queenstown and visiting the glacier. Their dream expedition ended with a fortnight in Fiji and a visit to Los Angeles.
