Haworth's fair trade fortnight will be launched on Monday -- and organisers are promising it will be a fun-packed two weeks for everyone.

The event -- which is a national fortnight of fair trade celebration -- will also celebrate Haworth recently gaining the status of a fair trade zone.

One of the organisers, Rita Verity, of Sonia's Smile, in Haworth, said: "This is set to be a brilliant couple of weeks for Haworth and there are so many events planned throughout the village.

"It is all really coming together and there should be something for everyone to enjoy."

Among the centrepieces are a guitar and vocal session, the Silsden Singers, mosaic making, face painting, a didgeridoo workshop, performance theatre, quizzes, a Pink Floyd tribute concert and Watercolour Challenge's celebrity Danny Clark entertaining in West Lane Baptist Church.

On Wednesday guitar and vocalist Chaz will be appearing in Haworth for the first time, entertaining with hits from the 60s and through the decades.

He will be playing at The Fleece Inn, in Main Street, from 8pm onwards.

The Fleece Inn will also be hosting an extra mini-quiz on Thursday evening on the fair trade theme.

The village's tourist information centre will host an exhibition about fair trade throughout the fortnight, along with a children's colouring table.

An art exhibition in the old school rooms by Shefali Chauhan, from Gujarat, India, will also be a permanent fixture, with Indian art demonstrations and henna hand painting.

The second week is jam packed with exciting events, which will be featured in next week's Keighley News.
