Keen dancers are being urged to support a charity event in aid of a children's cancer unit.

Bingley Dance Studio is holding a Day of Dance on Sunday, March 16 to raise cash for the regional cancer care unit for children at St James's Hospital in Leeds.

The event is being held in memory of a former pupil, five-year-old Billy Broxup, of Bradford, who lost an 18-month battle against leukaemia on October 28.

Billy's aunt, Victoria Broxup, and sisters Lucy and Amy-Jo, are still members of the dance studio in Main Street.

Organisers will be running a series of dance workshops throughout the day, ranging from cheerleading, street-dance and disco freestyle for children, to salsa, rock 'n' roll and belly dancing for adults.

The sessions run from 9.30am to 6.15pm and are £4 each. To reserve a place or find out more details call Bingley Dance Studio on (01274) 560070.

A raffle with prizes including a Keighley Cougars shirt and magnum of champagne will also be held on the day.
