Toby Cook took an impressive ninth place on Sunday morning riding in his first event as a member of the new Aire Valley Racing Team.

Riding in the Ribble Valley Wymott Road Race over 44 miles, wind and damp roads made for an eventful race which saw an eight-man break take off on the first lap, splintering the chasing pack in to several groups.

Simon Thompson and Cook were safe in the second group and chased hard throughout the race but the lead group proved far to, finishing over two minutes ahead. A massive crash with one lap to go saw Simon brought down with half of the second bunch, on one of many slippery corners, and luckily suffered only minor.

Cook avoided the crash and slipped off the front with two other riders to complete the last nine miles in a three-man break, out-sprinting his opponents on the run to the finish.
