FLEECE and Keighley United played out a thrilling Jeff Hall Memorial Trophy clash -- with play swinging from end to end throughout the 90 minutes.
Both keepers were kept busy as the high-tempo action kept players and spectators on their toes.
The last time the teams met honours were even as they played out a 2-2 draw in the league, and once again their was nothing between the two sides.
Fleece centre forward P Poole opened the scoring after ten minutes, but United soon equalised. Chances were missed by both teams and the scored remained 1-1 at the break.
The second half followed a similar pattern, but this time United were the first to score. However, Fleece were soon on level terms and the game continued to swing before United edged ahead again. With 15 minutes to go Fleece pulled to score back to 3-3.
As the action became even more frenzied United made it 4-3, and with time running out Fleece missed a golden opportunity to take the game into extra time. United's scorers were Sean Lockley (2), Harry Robinson and Andy Feather. Fleece scorers were Pat Poole (2) and Anthony Scott. Adrian Powis was Fleece's man of the match.
Shoulder of Mutton beat Wilsden 2-0 with a goal in each half. The goals came from Keith Spence and an own goal.
Bocking played host to Long Lee Victoria and ran out 4-0 winners. They were already firmly in control by half time, with three of their goals coming in the first half.
BCA United were at home to New Variety Club, and after drawing 3-3 at their last meeting, the Variety boys took a 2-1 half time lead. In the second half the Variety Club scored two more, but BCA were unable to find the net as they slipped to a 4-1 defeat.
Bingley Town were too strong for a young Cavendish Hotel side, scoring five goals in the first period and seven after the break. Cavendish managed a single consolation effort. Town's scorers were Andy Nelson (4), Chris Whether (2), Marcus Barnes (2), Stuart Hinds (2) and Paul Rance and Richard Wade.
Only a week after Three Horses suffered a defeat at the hands of Albert Hotel they turned the tables and handed out a 12-1 thrashing. They hammered home five first half goals and added seven more in the second period
Scorers for Three Horses were Chris smith (5), Jamie Rowell (4), Andy Godden (2) and Liam Best.
