Keighley Cricket Club is looking forward to a bumper 2003 -- as the Bradford League celebrates its centenary.
At Wednesday's annual meeting members were told that the 2002 season had brought success with their victory in the Heavy Woollen Cup, winning the oldest trophy in the game.
This year under new captain Mark Beckett, and with the prospect of a Australian pace bowler joining their ranks, they were going to make their priority promotion to the League's senior division.
President Bob Chapman said the club had made a profit of almost £10,000 which would go to pay off loans from club members. They had also got a major new source of income from a mobile phone mast errected in a corner of the ground.
But he added that the club relied on volunteer workers and they needed more helpers including groundstaff, a scorer, and people to work on catering and running the bar.
"We enjoyed a successful year int 2002, and I've got a feeling that it is going to be a very good season in 2003," Mr Chapman said.
