Gordon Gibb will not be rushed into new contract talks with Nicky Law.

The highly-regarded City boss has reached the halfway point of his three-season deal which has another 15 months to run.

While Law is building for the future by bringing in several younger players like Danny Forrest and Simon Francis, his own position after that remains unclear.

But chairman Gibb, whose search for a new youth-team coach is likely to stretch into the summer, does not believe there is any need to worry yet on the management front.

He said: "Nicky is contracted up to the end of next season and as far as I'm aware we are comfortable with that. Everything is going well and we have a terrific working relationship."

Law hinted after Saturday's win over Crystal Palace that he was looking no further than next year as far as his own career was concerned.

Gibb said: "I think it was just a throw-away remark. Perhaps it was just Nicky's reference to his position in the industry which is not usually known for its longevity.

"I don't think any of us can really look beyond the next 18 months to two years. That's not being defeatist but we know how quick personnel do turn round in this game. But as a mid-term report I would say we are starting to earn some good results as an organisation. Everybody is happy with the way things are going and I don't think there is any reason to want to change that."

Meanwhile, City's trip to Sheffield United, moved because of the FA Cup semi-finals, will now take place on Tuesday, April 29.
