In Division One of the Keighley & District Table Tennis League Jim Lister ensured Nemesis 'A' enjoyed a profitable match away at Lothersdale 'B' with three convincing victories, the closest of which was a sparkling encounter with Peter Midgley that ended 16-21, 21-17, 21-10 in Lister's favour. Dave Newberry harvested the fruits of his labours with a couple that included a 21-13, 18-21, 21-18 defeat of Martin Connolly and with John Lister also grabbing a brace, Lothersdale struggled to find a rhythm, although David Galley scored a couple for them with defeats of John Lister 21-16, 21-12 and Newberry 21-13, 21-13 in his team's 7-3 defeat.

Second Division Champs Nemesis 'B' celebrated their success with a 9-1 home win against third placed Lothersdale 'C'. Dave Manogue extended his season-long unbeaten run to 41 with convincing defeats of Richard Crookes 21-19, 21-14; Jack Anderson 21-17, 21-16 and Jack Webber 21-13, 21-19. Peter Worger claimed his 32nd victory from 36 with another treble and only a Jack Anderson defeat of Tom Sampson 21-19, 21-12 spoiled the party for the winners.

At the other end of the table, Oakworth look to have made themselves safe with a valuable 7-3 home win against fellow relegation candidates Stockbridge. Ben Lowe kicked off in style with his three straight wins including a 21-19, 21-10 against Abid Hussain. Steve Smith matched his team-mate, but needed a third against Ryan Foulds 21-16, 21-23, 21-13 before the two of them paired up to win the doubles 21-19, 21-12 against Ray Wallace and Hussain. The three points for the Spartans came from defeats of the unfortunate Jason Procter in three to each of his opponents.

Cononley Sports, relaxing comfortably in mid-table, used home advantage well to restrict Nemesis 'B' to a 6-4 victory. With a return of 22 from 24 for the season for Michael Mitchell it is easy to see that had the Cononley player been available more often, promotion may well have been achieved. His two wins this week came against Peter Worger 21-10, 21-19 and Tim Moran 22-20, 19-21, 21-16. Paul Lister also defeated Worger 21-19, 21-15 before joining Mitchell to defeat Dave Manogue and Moran 12-21, 21-19, 22-20 in the doubles. The real star of the show, as well as being the saviour of Nemesis was Manogue who continued his winning ways with another treble.

In Division Three, Danny McHugh took his tally to 31 from 36 with another sparkling display for Crossflatts 'A', this time at home to South Craven. Starting with a confident 21-12, 21-14 win against Edward Jagger, the youngster then got the better of Chris Airey 21-16, 21-13 and Mathew Wiggan 21-10, 21-19. Pat Legg grabbed a couple for the cricketers against Airey and Wiggan and John Patrick also grabbed a brace against Jagger and Wiggan before the same pair notched the doubles 21-8, 23-21 against Jagger and Wiggan. The visitors' points came from Jagger, 21-12, 19-21, 21-17 against Legg and Airey who defeated Patrick 22-20, 21-15.

Top player in the Third Division, John Pullen, took his tally to 33 from 33 with another scintillating treble at home to Haworth 'B' as his team made sure of the second promotion spot with a 9-1 victory. Ronnie Farrar earned the home team's point with the defeat of Allan Ripley 21-16, 21-13, but the Butt Laners on the whole struggled to match their illustrious counterparts and the nearest they got after this was Tom Hagyard going down in three to both Tony Bugeja 19-21, 21-11, 21-12, and Allan Ripley 21-14, 16-21, 21-17.
