Phil Sant blasted a superb 103 as Ilkley totalled a massive 305 for nine against Calverley in their Birtwhistle Cup tie on Sunday.

Another veteran John Ward gave support with 55. Calverley replied with 180 all out with Ward completing a fine all round performance with five for 40.

Addingham fell for 124 chasing a Kirkstall score of 208. Opener M Carter had provided the backbone of the Kirkstall innings with a fine 70 and had good support from M Rose with 46. Dick Barrow produced Addingham's best bowling figures with 3-22 off nine overs.

Addingham made a solid start through openers D Hall (32) and D Leng (28) but then their innings fell away as D Hodgson bit with four for 21 and R Ashworth with four for 29.

Birtwhistle Cup holders North Leeds had a relatively easy passage into the second round when they defeated Pool by five wickets on Sunday.

Pool made 160 all out and were thankful to a knock of 50 not out from M Towers for giving the score some respectability.

Some solid batting from North Leeds saw them through led by G Wilcox with 42.

Tong Park gained a five wickets win over Horsforth who made 181 for eight. It was the veteran Peter Murden who steered Tong to victory with an unbeaten 69.

Harden posted a more than useful 250 for seven against Collingham with a superb 97 from M Falkingham before he was run out.

Collingham were dismissed for 152 in reply with number eight Ian Cruddas making top score of 63.

Green Lane gained a three wickets win over Olicanians who were restricted to 168 for seven with Billy Cousins taking three for 22 off his nine overs.

An unbeaten half-century from M Pollard saw Lane through with just 11 balls to go.

Rawdon's 193 for eight was too big a target for Bolton Villas who fell for 123 as J Hill picked up four for 28.

Guiseley amassed 260 for seven against Upper Wharfedale who hit back with 250 for nine in an exciting game.

Adam Perring top scored for Guiseley with 62 while Roberts hit 88 for Wharfedale.
