The Bulls have launched The Big One - the largest sporting lottery jackpot in Yorkshire.

All the players turned out to promote last night's event which is offering a £500 a day prize, with one lucky Bulls fan having the chance to win £25,000.

The initiative, launched in front of nearly 500 fans at the Hilton Hotel, Bradford, will also help secure the club's future.

Chairman Chris Caisley told the assembled fans that money raised by the newly-launched lottery would help to pay for, among other things, further developments at Odsal.

"We have achieved a lot in recent years," said Caisley, after the audience were treated to a video showreel of the club's recent triumphs.

"But we have never been a club to look back and we want to keep on achieving in the future and build on our success.

"Phase One of the redevelopment of Odsal is nearly complete and our ambitions want to help us achieve Phases Two and Three."

As well as the additional work on the stadium, which includes putting a roof on the 'Popular' stand and developing the Rooley Avenue end of the ground, the club are moving forward in other areas, he told the meeting.

The players will soon be moving into new state-of-the-art training facilities at Woodhouse Grove school and money is also being pumped into the two successful Academy sides and youth development in general.

Both coach Brian Noble and skipper Robbie Paul also addressed the fans, thanking them for their support and urging them to sign up for the lottery.

The players, who themselves have all joined the scheme, then circulated round the room to sign autographs and register people for the £1-a-week lottery. Each weekday a £500 prize will be given away and all those who subscribe each week for a year will be eligible for the £25,000 draw next year.

Meanwhile, kick-off for the June 1 clash with London Broncos has been brought forward to 3pm from its original 6pm slot.

The Bulls, who have averaged over 15,000 since moving back to Odsal this year, have moved the fixture to allow London fans more opportunity to travel home after the game.

Bulls Media manager Stuart Duffy said: "We have had discussions with London Broncos regarding this fixture and we both feel it will give more of their supporters a chance to see the game and get home at a reasonable time.

"It will also give us an opportunity to test our supporter's views on a more traditional kick off time for Sunday games.

"We have consulted with supporters and there is a feeling that 3.00 pm would suit the majority of our fans."
