Andy Tod is staying in Scotland to clinch a move away from City.

Tod, who has one more year on his contract, is training north of the border as he tries to get fixed up. Two Scottish clubs have already expressed an interest.

As City's players hit the streets of Bradford yesterday, pictured, as their pre-season training continued in earnest, City managing director Shaun Harvey confirmed: "I've spoken to Andy's agent and he will undertake his pre-season in Scotland. A couple of clubs are understood to be interested in him and Andy will be speaking to them with Bradford City's permission.

"We've made it clear that we would help support Andy in a move to Scotland as it would benefit both parties." Tod, 32, was frozen out in January because of an appearance clause with previous club Dunfermline. It would have cost City £25,000 if he played another game.

Tod, who made 39 appearances and scored seven goals, was signed by Jim Jefferies for £150,000 in November 2001 after a successful loan spell.

He spent the second half of last season with Dundee United.

Harvey added: "Everyone thought it was a shock at the time when the situation arose about the pending payment. But now the country is littered with players in the same position."

Dean Windass was flying home from holiday today as City close in on his signature.

Harvey said: "Once Dean returns from Portugal we can move things to the next stage."
