Otley Rhythmic Gymnastics Club's U-10 team beat off stiff competition to win silver in the British Championships.
The girls who performed a dramatic rope routine, delighting the audience with the audacity of their throws, were Emma Hendry, Hollie Phimister, Harriet Ayres, Isabelle Ayres and Francesca Reeve. The gymnasts all train with the Otley Rhythmic Gymnastics Club under the instruction of Head Coach Karen Harper.
The Otley Club is at the forefront of developing the sport of rhythmic gymnastics in Yorkshire. As well as the success in the U-10s, the Otley Junior Group - Allie O'Brien (Arthington) captain, Carolyn Bate (Kirkstall), Lora Dimova (Shadwell) Annie Pallis (Collingham) and Hannah Williams (Horsforth) achieved fourth place with their hoop routine.
Commenting on their performance, Karen Harper said: "Once again we are delighted with these results. The girls have been highly committed and have trained hard."
