Members of the Seidokan Karate Club attended the Cumbrian Open Championships held at the Sands Leisure Centre in Carlisle and won a string of medals.
Sarah Bottomley fought in the girls Under-16 section and won gold while Alistair Barker won a silver medal in the boys Under-13 fighting section.
The club also won the open team title after Paul Newby, Cain Caning and Ben Bottomley were victorious in a exciting match against Meadowbank A, the top Scottish team.
The Bismillah Club also took part in the competition with Bryce Greenwood who was 1st in the 9-7 kyu section and Carly Robertson one the 6-4K girls event. Shane barton was third in the 608 years event and Ricky Noon was third in the men's Under-75k event in his first senior competition.
Last weekend they took art in an international tournament at manchester with Khruam Ilyas second in the Under-15s section, Joanne Robinson 3rd in the girls Under-15 category and Amjid Hussain 3rd in the Open Weight event.
