I would like to pass on my sincere condolences to the family of Wayne McComb who tragically died recently. Wayne has been one of Keighley's best amateur players for many years, and represented Yorkshire.

He was a constant thorn in my side whilst playing at scrum-half for Worth Village against Keighley Albion in my Albion coaching days, my words to my lads would be "keep McComb quiet" but that was always easier said than done as we inevitably failed to do so and he would very often end up scoring match winning tries against us. His pace and strength were amazing, I am sure Wayne will be sadly missed by many.

There's been a thoughtful atmosphere in the camp this week.

We held our usual post match review on Tuesday evening and the mood was very positive. Yes we have had our backsides kicked but we acknowledged that we contributed vastly to our own downfall and recognised a few areas that we need to work on. I am a firm believer in always looking for the positives even from defeats, eliminating the negatives and building on the positives is the only way to move forward.

In a way there is almost a sense of relief that we have now lost the unbeaten tag. Unbeaten runs are great for confidence but they come at a price, every team you play raises their game a little in order to try and be the side that knocks you off your perch.

Well last Sunday we fell from a great height but we remain three points clear at the top of the League and our aim is to stay there.

This weekend we entertain Swinton Lions at Cougar Park, one guy that will need no introducing to the Cougar Army will be the Lions General Manager and Head Coach Peter Roe.

Peter was the coach that started the Cougarmania bandwagon on its way to great success back in 1993, and if myself and Mossy can emulate his success we will be more than happy and I am sure Peter would give us his blessing, however I am sure he owes me a drink from our Featherstone days so I'll have to that remember on Sunday.
