COLTON and Skipton kept the promotion battle at full heat both recording wins to maintain their position as joint league leaders.

They have now opened up a gap of six points over third placed Horsforth.

Skipton set Addingham too high a target with 219 and Sean Atkinson's men floundered to an all out 138 against one of his former clubs.

Openers Kenny Owens (36) and Steve Carling (33) gave them a solid start and then Aussie Robert Dilger cracked 61 to boost the score.

Addingham's bowlers toiled but Atkinson brought himself on as fourth change and took three for 26.

Addingham lost two cheap wickets before Brad Houlston (49) and Ben Silverthorne (42) gave them hope with a good third wicket stand.

Their colleagues were unable to maintain the momentum as Z Iqbal struck with three for 26, A Fergie with three for 39 and C Baxter withthree for 35.

Colton were dismissed for 180 and had to rely on their bowlers for victory. They were not let down as Robert Horner bagged five for14 off 9.3 excellent overs and David Wright (3-36).

Illingworth were dismissed for 128 in reply.

Olicanians held out for two points in a drawn game at Alwoodley where the home side made 187 for nine.

A good knock of 40 from former Yeadon player Alastair Long set Olicanians on their way but J Hudson apart with his unbeaten 32 there was little support and they finished on 150 for seven.

Pool Mills are rock bottom and there was little joy for them on Saturday with their game interrupted by rain.

Upper Wharfedale made 214 for eight with a fine 110 from their Australian Jason Agars.

Pool Mills lost two overs and the game petered out into a one point draw.

Pool had teached 133 for seven with M Wilkinson producing a battling 42 not out.

Bolton Villas took all six points from their clash with Woodhouse - another side at the bottom end.

Woodhouse were dismissed for 127 as B Shackleton took three for 15 and R Slater (3-46). Villas knocked off the runs without loss as G Johnson made 47 no and S Wilson (67no).

Horsforth defeated Ben Rhydding by a mere two wickets after an excellent start had seen them at 114 for two in reply to 191 for nine. The Ben Rhydding bowlers pegged away and aided by two run outs they had Horsforth in a bit of trouble.
