The following roads could be congested next week as vital water works are carried out in Bradford.

Yorkshire Water is investing £100 million in improving the quality of water in the district, but work will continue until December 2005.

Works will be in the following places from June 30:

Rooley Lane: one west-bound lane and the 'fast' lane east-bound will be taken out of use, with a contraflow in place for two weeks. Drivers heading in to the city from the M606 are advised to use Mayo Avenue and Manchester Road, instead of Rooley Lane and Wakefield Road

Mayo Avenue: lane closure from 9.30am to 3.30pm only

Hall Ings, city centre: closure of inside lane at night only (outside lane already closed for work by another party)

Cemetery Road, Four Lane Ends: excavations in road with no traffic management needed at present

Green End, Clayton: road closure

Laisterdyke: two-way lights at junction of Leeds Road and Bradford Road

Lidget Bridge, Clayton: lane closure

Mill Lane/Nelson Street: three-way lights at mini-roundabout

Baxandall Street, West Bowling: road closure.
