Skeletal Family are selling tickets from a Keighley shop for their "secret" home town gig this month.

Just 200 tickets are available for the July 24 concert at the New Variety Club in Russell Street.

The goth-rockers are treating the concert as a warm-up for gigs on the following two days in Glasgow and London.

Musicians Trotwood, Stan and Martin will be joined by original member Karl Heinz on saxophone and keyboards.

Original singer Anne Marie, who cannot appear due to family commitments, will be replaced by new band member Claire.

The support act will be two former members of major rock/indie bands trying out their own new material.

Tickets for the Keighley gig are available on a first-come-first-served basis with entry to the club strictly enforced on the night.

A small number of tickets are available for £5 to personal callers at Speaks camping & outdoor shop in Keighley bus station (phone 01535 603979).

Keighley tickets can also be booked from the Skeletals' web site www.skeletalfamily.com.

The Skeletals, Keighley's biggest band of the 1980s, have not played the town since the height of their fame.

As one of the UK's leading goth-punk bands they drew hundreds of supporters from around the country to Keighley venues like The Funhouse.

Renewed interest, following the inclusion of their songs on compilation albums, led last year to the band reforming.

The members include Keighley men Stan Greenwood, also a member of The Big Bang, and Oasis roadie Roger "Trotwood" Nowell. Stan says the new vocalist adds a fifth dimension to the band's "unique sonic enhanced destructive sound".

The band will play the Cathouse, Glasgow, on July 25 (phone 0141 248 6606) and the Slimelight Club, Islington, on July 26 (phone 0207 837 6419).

Skeletal Family -- Disinterred

The music scene in Keighley during the early-mid Eighties was positively thriving.

Gigs at the Funhouse had local heroes like The Shakes, Teenage & The Wildlife and New Model Army playing alongside the likes of The Sisters Of Mercy.

Skeletal Family enjoyed huge success during this time before calling it a day in 1986.

Last year saw the band reform and play a reunion gig at the Cockpit in Leeds. This CD captures the bulk of the set from that night.

Original Skeletal Anne-Marie wasn't present but Katrina, who had fronted the band during their time with major label Chrysalis, flew in from America to perform vocals.

Disinterred captures the atmosphere and, by live album standards, this is a terrific recording. So Sure, She Cries Alone, Restless, Promised Land -- all 'the greats' are here.

The CD is available from the band's website at skeletalfamily.com.

If you fail to catch the Skeletal Family at this month's gigs, they are planning a proper homecoming gig around the end of the year.
