Chairman Gordon Gibb today urged City fans to be patient with Nicky Law's new breed.

Gibb is backing the much-changed Bantams for a successful First Division campaign as they unveil a host of new faces. But he also added a note of caution ahead of Saturday's big kick-off at home to Norwich.

Gibb said: "As a club we're very optimistic about this year. But it is going to take time and I would ask that supporters be patient with them.

"When you look at the team that played at Barnsley there were only four members of the first team from last year. You can't make wholesale changes and immediately expect positive results.

"I'm sure you will see the green shoots against Norwich but the team will be by no means the finished article.

"But the players are going into the season very well prepared. They are bonding as a group and are fit as hell.

"Now we are just looking forward to the icing on the cake which will be good results on the pitch where it matters."

Lewis Emanuel is back in training after undergoing rehabilitation work for a knee injury at Lilleshall.

Physio Steve Redmond said: "Lewis has been back with us since Monday. But he has not played any of the games in pre-season so it may take him a little while to catch up with the others."
