A pioneering project to help Bradford firms clean up their act is helping to change attitudes among business chiefs, it was claimed today.
The Euro-Asian Resource Group has launched a series of seminars to help educate 200 small and medium-sized Asian firms about waste management.
Representatives from about 70 Bradford businesses attended the second event in the series last night.
And today Richard Wixey, Bradford Council's Director of Environmental Protection and Waste Management, said the project had helped to raise awareness of important environmental issues.
"It is vital that local businesses take responsibility for disposing of their waste properly to help make Bradford a cleaner place for residents and visitors."
Project organiser Dayal Sharma said he was delighted by the response to the meetings which were attended by businesses ranging from five to 20 employees.
"There was a strong message that businesses were not aware of what is going in Bradford or how their business waste was disposed of," he said.
