Putting safety first has netted a top business award for Bingley-based driver supply agency, Driver Hire Nationwide.
The company, which provides truck, van and car drivers through its national network to businesses across the UK, beat courier groups and delivery agencies to win the National Courier Associa-tion's Corporate Safety Award.
"Safety has always been top of Driver Hire's agenda, so we are delighted with this recognition from a very well-respected national association," said Driver Hire Nationwide chief executive John Bussey.
"The award recognises our overall commitment to safety throughout the organisation, but specifically marked our initiative with national road safety organisation Brake, which encouraged drivers employed by our 100 UK offices to sign a pledge to drive safely."
Tracey Worth, chairman of the judging panel for the National Courier Awards, said: "Safety was a new category in the awards this year and a tough one to win. The judges were very impressed that Driver Hire offices had supported this marketing initiative so strongly at a local level."
