Ben Rhydding's junior golfers completed the finest double in the club's history winning the Bradford Team Championship at Calverley for the second successive year.

The four-man team of Peter Hibbert (Captain) Chris Pearce, Richard Atkins and Chris Atkins finished two shots clear of runners-up Riddlesden.

Ben Rhydding now represent the 28 Bradford Union clubs in the Yorkshire Union Cup at Tankersley Park and join Calverley as Bradford representatives in the Daily Telegraph North East Championships at Brancepath Castle, Durham.

Winners at Brancepath Castle take part in the National playoff for the honour of representing England at La Manga in the Daily Telegraph home International Championships.

Junior Organiser Bruce Fowler was delighted with the result. He said: "It was a stunning performance and we were fortunate that Chris Pearce chose Sunday to play the best golf of his life! Chris well supported by the other team players including Chris Atkins at 12 one of the youngest competitors in the championships.

"This is a great reward for the efforts of senior and junior club members, and parents over the past few years."

The year may finish with even more success for the club. The boys may add the league title to the team cup as league leaders with only two matches left to play this season.

The membership list is full for junior boys this year but applications for girls in the 11-14 age range are invited for season 2004. Adult category memberships are available at the club described by 'Fore' magazine as one of the top ten nine-hole courses in Britain.

COOKRIDGE HALL: Once again a best back nine calculation was required to sort out one of the placings in a full handicap Stableford Competition. In this instance it was third place, with Otley's own Dave Wilkinson losing out to John Rushfirth, both with 38 points.

Second with one point more was John Kitchen, who was third last week.

His rich vein of form hasn't yet secured him a recent first place but watch this space; he's on fire at the moment.

This week's first position was secured by Ken Goddard, a newish member of the seniors, who nosed ahead of John with a score of 40 points.
