Guiseley are lining up for their biggest challenge of the season on Sunday - a Waddilove Cup final spot against the Airedale and Wharfedale League's runaway leaders Bilton at Ilkley.

That will have to be without their Australian all-rounder Chris Underwood. He was rushed into Bradford Royal Infirmary on Monday and had his appendix removed on Tuesday morning.

The big Aussie will certainly be missed and Guiseley also have a doubt over former Northumberland bowler Peter Graham who has been suffering from an ongoing achilles problem.

Graham is named in the squad along with promising young pace bowler Joe Davies and Graham will undergo a last minute fitness test.

Otherwise Guiseley are expected to have a bowling attack of Marcus Brown, Andrew Paley, skipper Mark Ross and slow bowlers Chris Wain and Mark Best.

Wicketkeeper Steve Thompson, former Undercliffe star Howard Reeve, Ian Chaplin and Glen Taylor make up the squad.

They will have to be on top form to beat Bilton but neighbours Green Lane proved it can be done.

They inflicted a surprise first league defeat of the season on Bilton last Saturday.

Bilton, who are expected to be without Burton and hope to have Darren Murray back from his holidays, will be looking to bounce back against a side seeking a hat-trick of Waddilove Cup wins.

Guiseley will be appearing in their fifth successive final and their new skipper Mark Ross will be looking to emulate former skipper Steve Thompson in lifting the trophy.

Ross is no stranger to cup finals and indeed has carried off the Man-of-the-Match award in the last two finals.

On Saturday Green Lane set a modest target of 150 for the league leaders after M Rassool had taken 5-51 and Steve Phillips 4-39.

Bilton were soon in trouble as Neil Britton continued his excellent season with a 5-54 return. He was well backed up by Barry McCormick with 4-57 and Bilton fell five runs short of the target.

Guiseley also lost last Saturday after being dismissed for 156. Southport goalkeeper Steve Dickinson, promoted from the second team, was top scorer with 41 as his colleagues struggled against Adrian Dalby who took 6-84. Steeton then romped to victory thanks to a fine knock of 80 from Adam Greenwood. He was well supported by G Boulton who made 30 not out.

Menston closed the gap to nine points with a spectacular win over Follifoot. Menston made 183-9 with a superb century from Gary Thompson. Follifoot were then dismissed for 144 as G Bell (4-35) and Michael Bredenkamp (3-46) became the bowling heroes.

North Leeds racked up a massive 269-7 thanks to the Hollis brothers Tim and Guy. Tim took star billing with a wonderful 95 whilst Guy battled away for 54. P Valentine (55) and Barry Singleton (32) also got amongst the runs as the Roundhay side tormented the Otley bowlers.

Otley replied with 172-8 to draw thanks to valiant efforts from David Taylor (54) and Matt O'Grady 41.

John Francas hit a half-century as Adel posted 193-7 against Hall Park who replied with 125-7 to draw.

In Division B Kirkstall beat second-placed Rawdon by three wickets to move eight points clear at the top. Despite losing Rawdon remain ten points clear with Burley losing at home to Tong Park.

Craig Walsh with 42 steered Rawdon to 172 with Neil Walmsley taking 5-40. Kirkstall rubbed off the runs thanks to A Siddall's 47 and M Hall's 41.

Burley's Ben Harris cracked 67 but it was all in vain as Tong Park gained a three wickets win with G Wilkinson hitting a half-century
