Haworth has become the Cluedo capital of Keighley, according to a Bradford councillor.

The claim comes after a number of letters have gone missing from street signs around the village. And it could endanger the lives of villagers, said Councillor Glen Miller, who represents Worth Valley.

He said: "Haworth has become the Cluedo capital of Keighley because several letters from street signs have been going missing.

"It might seem funny, but it is a concern to the fire services, ambulance service and police services. If they have to find somewhere in an emergency this does not help. Children might think it is funny, but when it is their grandmother needing an ambulance they won't be thinking that."

He said the P from Prince Street had been removed to form rince Street, but other alterations were of a less wholesome nature.

However, Cllr Miller was pleased that money had been allocated to replace a lost sign for the Quarry car park on Weavers Hill. The sign, which was erected outside the new toilets, in Haworth Park, was taken earlier this year. Now a replacement has been put up by council officials.

Cllr Miller said: "The sign vanished a few months ago but I am glad the new sign has now been put up.

"The situation has not been helped by the possible loss of parking because of the surgery plans on the Rawdon Road car park."
