Five local primary schools have been rewarded for their commitment and achievements in PE and sport.

Haworth, Oakworth, Oldfield, Oxenhope and Stanbury Primary Schools have all been awarded the prestigious Activemark Award from Sport England.

The Activemark Award scheme is an accreditation scheme that recognises and awards schools for their commitment to promoting the benefits of physical activity.

In order to achieve the award, schools must offer a broad and balanced PE programme, provide an environment that encourages physical activity and teach the children the importance of staying active for life.

All the schools are part of the Oakbank School Sports Co-ordinator programme which aims to raise standards and participation in PE and sport in the area.
