It has been a desperate season for Hartshead Moor's first team, who are still without a win after 21 matches.

However, it is a different story for their second team, who had won nine and lost six before their Division Two match at Esholt on Saturday.

The visitors made 170 and the main contributors were Robert Wood (50), John Healey (33 not out), Russell Noble (31) and Philip Gooder (27), Stefan Garbus taking five for 45 and Stuart Houlbrook three for 32.

Then teenager Richard Carr dropped anchor with 90 not out as Esholt won by six wickets, Ben Brian (41) helping him to add 83 for the first wicket.

Now that the football season has started, there are even more reasons to be unavailable for cricket and Great Horton could only field eight men for their home match against Keighley.

The hosts made only 57, Keighley's three-pronged attack of Alan Birkett (3-10), Andrew Smith (3-16) and Jamie Robinson (2-25) all returning decent figures and the visitors needed only ten overs to knock off the required runs by 3.01pm.

Salts were a man short at home to Saltaire, who made a mammoth 327 for six off only 48 overs.

Jarar Agha made 75 not out, Robert Worsnop 68 and Jonathan Robinson and Tilina Amberitiyia 51 each.

Adam Hodgson persevered to take four for 93 for Salts, who replied with 157 all out, of which junior Jonny Thompson made an excellent 102no.

Brighouse conceded 38 byes among their 54 extras at Manningham Mills, who made 294 for eight, Shezad Azam hitting 83 and Ikram ul-Haq 59.

Aamar Hussain took four for 64 for Brighouse and Jamil Akhtar four for 77, but Akhtar's bowling was put in the shade by his batting. He hit nine fours and six sixes in his 93 made out of 185 all out, Ikram ul-Haq taking five for 51.
