More than ten per cent of small retailers in Bradford have been burgled in the last three years, according to research.

Break-ins cost Britain's small retailers about £30 million since 2000, according to new research from Eagle Star Small Business Direct.

The Yorkshire and the North East region saw 12 per cent of businesses burgled, with 17 per cent of those losing more than £3,000 in stock. Eagle Star Small Business Direct said having the right locks was often low on a list of priorities, but it was worthwhile.
