Anyone who has been inclined to question Bradford Northern as a major force because of their moderate league record this season was given a convincing answer at the Boulevard. Even after releasing men like Wolford, Austin, Joyce and Slater - and with cup-tied pair Stephenson and Grayshon on the sidelines - Northern showed they cannot be ruled out of the chase for honours with a far more convincing win than the score suggests - Hull 12, Bradford Northern 18.
