Gareth Farrelly today warned his new City team-mates: One win doesn't mean anything.

Farrelly, Bryan Robson's first capture, made a winning start to his three-month stay from Bolton.

But the Republic of Ireland midfielder knows the size of the job still facing the club to scramble clear of the drop zone.

He said: "It was lovely to get the three points against Millwall, the fans were terrific in the second half, and if we can emulate that every week it's going to give us half a chance.

"But the game's gone now and it's all about moving on and being prepared for Saturday.

"We've set our standard and we have to live up to it. Look at the table and one win doesn't change anything.

"The club have seen the size of the challenge but it's one that we have to rise to."

Farrelly has seen plenty of Division One this season after playing 14 games with Burnley. And he believes City can pull away from danger.

"The biggest things in this division are organisation and hard work. If people here are willing to do that then I think it's a position this club can get out of."

Farrelly, a similar player to Gareth Whalley, showed good vision with his passing on his debut and set up Michael Branch for the late winner.

He added: "There was a buzz about the place in relation to the manager coming in and I think that shone through in the second half.

"It's a positive situation but everyone is realistic about it. It was a bit funny to read before the game that we hadn't won in 12 games but the confidence now is massive."

Robson said: "I thought Gareth was excellent. His passing was very good, especially when we got a grip in midfield during the second half."

With no money to play with, Robson will use the loan market to bolster his resources. City can make up to seven more temporary deals during the season - but will need other clubs to help with the finances.

Robson said: "It depends on deals which I can get done with any of the clubs I'm talking to. People know we have no money to spend, and even on the wages it's difficult to get players in."

However, Robson said "there was no truth" in reports that he was interested in bringing Leeds United striker Michael Bridges to Valley Parade on a short-term deal.
