Growing numbers of old people could mean a crisis for Britain's inner cities, the Government was warned yesterday. Services are already bending under heavy pressure, and there could be a dramatic worsening of the problem by the middle of the next decade. Figures indicate a 7,000 increase in people over 65 in West Yorkshire and a 14,000 increase in South Yorkshire.
