ANDY HOLDEN slotted a free kick round the Steeton defensive wall to give Silsden victory in the South Craven derby.

Steeton were determined that the County champions would not have everything their own way and frustrated them for most of the game.

Holden's goal came in the opening period when he drove home a free kick from outside the area. Despite an heroic performance in the second half Steeton could not get an equaliser, but showed the skill which is sure to take them up the table as they compete for Premier Division honours.

Keighley Shamrocks played out a 0-0 draw with Eastmoor, a game they were hoping would bring points to lift them up the first division table.

In Reserve Division One Steeton pulled offa 1-0 victory over Dudley Hill Rangers with Paul Goodwin on target for the Summerhill Lane club.

n Tomorrow (Saturday) Silsden continue their quet to retain the County Challenge Cup when they travel to Halifax for a clash with the Irish Club side.

Keighley Lifts must also travel away from home for their clash with Knaresborough Town. Sandy Lane are at home to Wibsey.

Keighley shamrocks Reserves maintain local interest in the Challenge Trophy and they take on Stanningley Old Boys at home.

In the league Steeton are at home to Hall Green and Shamrocks are away to Hunsworth.

In the reserve division Steeton are away to Campion and Silsden are at home to Brighouse Town.
